Create & Run a ReflectAI Session
ReflectAI enables faculty to create personalised oral assessments, including vivas based on course materials and oral assessments based on students’ written submissions. Faculty can design assessments around their own content and learning objectives, helping assess students’ understanding, reasoning, and ability to explain and defend their responses through an interactive oral assessment
1. Open ReflectAI
Log in to your MSgames instructor account and open ReflectAI from the dashboard.
The ReflectAI dashboard gives you access to your assignments, resources, and sessions.
2. Create an Assignment
From the ReflectAI dashboard, select Create New Assignment or go to Assignments.
An assignment is the assessment you will use to collect student submissions and conduct the ReflectAI evaluation.
Set up the assignment according to your course and assessment requirements.
3. Add Your Assignment Details
Provide the information required for your assignment.
This may include the assignment instructions, assessment criteria, learning objectives, or other information needed to evaluate the student's work.
The exact fields available depend on the assignment setup.
4. Add the Assignment Resources
Use the available Resources section to access supporting material for your assessment.
Add or provide the material students need to complete the assignment, where applicable.
5. Invite Participants
Once the oral assessment is configured, invite the participants who will take it.
For an in-class assessment, invite participants directly through the platform. For a take-home assessment, you can enter participant email addresses individually or upload a spreadsheet containing the participant details. You can also add instructions for participants before sending the invitation.
Participants receive an email with the assignment details and a link to Access Assignment. The assignment also includes an expiry date, after which participants can no longer access it.
You can view invited participants and their status from the assignment page.
6. Collect Student Submissions
Once the assignment is ready, students can submit their written work through the assignment.
ReflectAI uses each student's submission as the basis for their personalised oral assessment. Questions are generated from what the student has written and mapped to the criteria defined by the faculty.
7. Run the ReflectAI Assessment
Once submissions are available, ReflectAI conducts the oral assessment for each student.
Students are assessed on their understanding of their own submission rather than simply on the written output.
8. Review the Results
After the assessment, review the available evaluation data for each student.
ReflectAI provides structured assessment information that can help faculty evaluate the quality of student reasoning and understanding. MSgames describes the platform as providing individual-level evidence that can support more defensible assessment.
9. Use the Results for Feedback and Assessment
Use the results to support your grading, feedback, and classroom discussions.
